Eva Longoria Shows Her Support For Padres Contra El Cancer

Eva Longoria joined forces with Padres Contra El Cancer association to help bring together children, families, healthcare professionals and community leaders to promote a comprehensive understanding of childhood cancer and other blood disorders.

Hollyscoop correspondent Jeremy J. Ford caught up with Eva at the benefit gala to get the scoop on this very special charity.

"We have been doing this gala every year. And each year it keeps getting better and better. And this year is the best year because we have Alejandro. The second we announced that he was going to be here, the ticket sales went through the roof, we packed the house, so I’m forever grateful. And the money we are raising tonight is because of Alejandro," said Eva.

Eva mentioned how hard it is not to get too emotional when she gets involved with the children. "I try to stay strong and not get emotional. You know if you have ever been to the Children’s hospital it will change your life. It is heart breaking and it’s hard to talk to the parents who are tearing up as they tell you their child's story. And that’s why you have to be here and do this because you have seen the pain in the parent’s eyes. This is parents against cancer and it’s a community we developed to support all of the families need to be with other families who are going through the same thing."

Unfortunately Eva isn't expecting now nor will she anytime soon but she does have a message for everyone: "Go to iamhope.org and donate. It is all about awareness especially in today’s economy. And not a lot of people can help their own families or can help others, so as long as we keep in the spirit of giving whatever you can the charity will be okay during this economic crisis."
